UVC Medical

Finsen Technologies is a global leader in providing UVC disinfection solutions for all medical settings.

A British company that exports globally, our UVC disinfection products are used around the world and have been proven highly effective in the ongoing battle to cut Healthcare Acquired Infections.

We offer two products that use high-dosage UVC disinfection to achieve log six (99.9999%) reduction in pathogens.

The Thor UVC is a robot that uses the highest dosage of UVC light technology of any equivalent machine to disinfect rooms, ambulances and enclosed spaces more efficiently that other systems.

The Nanoclave Cabinet is a cleaning device for all non-invasive equipment. In just seconds, this disinfects equipment, including electronic.

By using both, healthcare settings can ensure than rooms are disinfected, so too the equipment used.

The technology has been proven to have the potential to cut HAIs by up to 37%, this at a time when marginal gains from other methods such as better general hygiene are almost impossible to achieve.

In real terms, this means saving thousands of lives and also huge amounts of money - in the UK alone HAIs are thought to account for up to 30,000 lives and cost the NHS an estimated £1 billion per year. UVC technology can hep save thousands of lives and save tens or hundreds of millions of pounds across a healthcare system.

In the rest of this page, we will talk about both the THOR UVC and Nanocalve Cabinet in a little more detail.

UVC Medical Solution For Rooms - THOR UVC

Finsen Technologies’ THOR UVC robot produces a higher dose of UV-C constant wave light and so is the most effective machine to use this this technology as a room disinfection system.

It is also simple to use and provides a full report on which rooms have been disinfected.

To use, an operator would simply wheel THOR UVC into the room to be cleaned and then operate from outside. Operation is as simple as running an app on a tablet, THOR UVC then uses its room mapping technology to analyse the room, adjust its height as required and deliver the constant wave of UVC.

The robot’s ability to adjust its own height, coupled with the strength of the UVC wave combine to make this technology so effective. Areas that are hard or impossible to reach for other machines such as areas of shadow, on top of equipment or air vents are tackled and disinfected. Pathogens including Enterococcus, MRSA, C.difficile and Ebola are effectively targeted.

The machine features a safety shut-off - if the door to the room is opened mid cycle it will immediately end the cleaning cycle.

THOR UVC also sends instantaneous reports wherever they are needed, any administrator will immediately know a room or other enclosed space has been disinfected and so can be assigned for use. Meanwhile, THOR UVC can be wheeled by the operator to the next room to be cleaned.

UVC for Medical Equipment - Nanoclave Cabinet

Finsen Technologies’ Nanoclave Cabinet is as easy to use as a dishwasher, the cleaning cycle lasts just 30 seconds and yet it performs a vital task.

Simply placing any equipment inside, running the cycle (and then a second cycle having rotated the equipment) leaves it fully disinfected, the same log six reduction achieved as with THOR UVC.

Because no heat is generated and water isn’t used, this is a method that can disinfect sensitive and electronic equipment, in fact it is suitable for any non-invasive equipment.

Why Use Finsen Technologies Products?

Our products are approved and tested for all areas of the world and are already in place, helping to fight the blight of HAIs and pathogens.

The Clinical Service Journal describes THOR UVC as “the most efficient and unique UVC ROBOT introduced into the Infection prevention Market.”

Bob Darby, Director of Infection Prevention & Control at Circle Health www.circlehealth.co.uk who run hospitals, rehabilitation and NHS health services across the UK, says:

“[We] evaluated THOR UVC® performance in Operating Theatres and other clinical environments and we were extremely impressed with the results achieved. In my opinion, the use of UV-C can be a valuable aid in this as it can; when used correctly reduce bio-burden in difficult to contact areas and will not lead to increased resistance.”

Finsen Technologies’ products are more powerful UVC medical solutions than any other, faster and proven to work. They are already helping healthcare providers around the world save money and, more importantly, lives.
